Lunz am See is a municipality in the district of Scheibbs, Lower Austria, Austria.
Since May 2007 Lunz am See has been the home of the "Wasser Cluster Lunz".[3] It has been recorded as the coldest place in Central Europe, as a temperature of −52.6 °C (−62.7 °F) was measured here on 19 February 1932[4] at 47°49′13.7″N 15°2′42″E / 47.820472°N 15.04500°E.
